Students spend on average 13 out of 24 hours a day in their room. So a pleasant and private environment is the ideal answer. Fully furnished to a good standard. An ensuite bathroom or shower would be high priority. Todays students are image conscious. So access to a gym facility also appears high on the must have list.

Unsurprisingly, close proximity to nightlife is a must for the complete university experience. If the bars and clubs are within walking distance, then precious pounds can be saved from expensive taxi fares. Distance from their chosen university is also an issue to consider. Certainly if public transport is to be relied upon. Nice to have elements include any on site entertainment facilities such as a cinema and any handy eatery/cafe.

Mental health issues are high on the agenda these days. So some sort of facility that accommodates for students who are experiencing any issues would be a fantastic addition.

Co-incidentally enough, Quayside West in Newcastle provides all of these ‘wants and wishes’ that came to light from a recent survey

Money raised for Smile for Life Children’s Charity. Six lucky competition winners were treated to a once-in-a-lifetime experience at St James’s Park courtesy of Stripe Property Group.

Stripe Property Group donated their corporate box to Smile For Life Children’s Charity for the match with Leicester City, which was a 2-1 win for the Magpies.

The charity raffled off tickets to attend the game, raising more than ÂŁ2000 for the charity, with the winners witnessing a last-minute goal from Bruno Guimaraes to seal three points for Newcastle.

Competition winner Josh Hardie, 24, who works at the charity’s CafĂ© Beam, said: “I had a fabulous day. Having a three course meal then watching an incredible game of football was a brilliant experience.

“When the goal went in at the last minute I was ecstatic. I felt really lucky to be there.”

As well as getting the best view in the house for the game, winners also enjoyed a three-course meal, free drinks, and a visit from a Newcastle United ex-player.

Smile For Life chief executive Paula Gascoigne said: “We are so grateful to Stripe Property Group for providing us and our competition winners with this incredible experience.

“All of our winners had such a memorable day and enjoyed fantastic service from the team at Newcastle United. And what a game to see as well!”
